For this photography project, I worked a lot with Pablo and Stefan. We again tried to get photos in new environments, because the last time we did that it worked out really well. We took photos in room 309 and we also took photos under the stands in the theater. Going under the stands was a really  cool perspective and brought us some really cool photos that lead to use discovering when you shine purple and green on someone in a dark place, they will show up clear and it will look like a normal light is shining on them. This was a cool discovery we had this week.

For this post of light painting, Pablo Stefan and I tried different background for our images instead of just using the bathroom. I think this new background was a different perspective for our images, and we had more room to be creative. The most successful photos I had for this batch, were the ones I edited and tried different things with pic monkey. For one of my photos, it was Star Wars themed and this one turned out really great. Overall the new environment helped a lot with the images

Winter 1

For my Project, I chose light painting and light exposure (kind of the same thing). This week I mainly focused on light painting with Stefan and Pablo. We started to get more creative and used lights with different objects over it to give different color. One photo that took a lot of work and turned out really great was the Spiderman photo. We took 3 different photos and then layered them onto each other. I want to explore different techniques involving light painting. I am hoping to get some great long exposure photos of the city at night.

Slo Mo 2

For this project, we were tasked with capturing light painting photos, and motion blur photos. For me capturing the light painting photos was a lot easier than capturing the motion blur photos. It is hard to find the right balance of light and depth in the motion blur photos, which is something I struggled with in the beginning, but then as I progressed, I started to figure it out the basics. I think I was most successful with the light painting and I will continue to progress with my new project

Dbl Exposure

For this project, we were supposed to layer images onto each other and make sure they compliment each other. These images are supposed to seem surreal and out of this world, using any image from our past drafts. I really enjoyed these images and making them work with each other to give it a magical feel to it. For the two pictures of the moon, I was thinking I could put them together and give it almost like a star wars feel. Those two came out really well and I think it makes you feel like your in a whole new galaxy. 

When I started this project, I immediately started getting photos of the leafless trees through puddles and turning them into black and white. My goal with these images was to make it seem like the puddle was a way into another world. One thing I noticed that was really hard to capture was the reflection in the puddle. It was hard to capture the reflection without making the background grainy and muddy. I really like the perspective that reflections give, it is a whole new way of looking at the world. I tried to keep all of my photos is B&W, but some of them looked much better in color. 

For this project, I tried to combine different images that gave a dark and cold feel to the image and blended well together. I mainly focused on using portraits and flowers to explain a story with two frames. In the first one, I used a sad portrait of Malia with a raindrop to signify a tear/rain, and a vibe of darkness. I think, the great thing about these kind of multi frame images, is the viewer can create the story they want. It lets your imagination run free. I put every one of my photos in black and white and then added the daguerreotype filter to make it seem old and scratched up. The more of the filter I added the more intense the photo would turn out. I tried to give them all a similar feeling of being secluded with very few subjects.
