To start off, I really enjoyed taking these macro photos. Obviously, I think the portfolio is my best work and I have learned a lot through taking these photos. One of the biggest things I have learned throughout my portfolio, is taking many photos of the same subject at different focuses. I also think making sure you change the lighting on the camera will give you a sense of how light or dark you want your photo to be. Another big thing, was to not shoot photos one a windy day, because it is very hard to get the photos in focus when the plant is flying all over the place from the breeze. Overall, this was my favorite project in photography.

Draft #4 Mike Moats Macro Photography

I think this last post includes some of my best work because Mr. Whiton figured out a way to get closer and capture crisper photos if I didn't use the extra lens attached to the macro lens. I was able to use this trick on Thursday, and a lot of these photos were very successful. I have been using one of Mike Moats tips, which is to take a lot of photos of the same subject at different focuses. This allows me to get many different photos of the same subject, allowing me to always get a good photo of any subject. Another thing I tried out with this draft, was putting more of my photos into black and white giving it a darker and more dramatic feel.

Draft 3

In this draft, I didn't have enough time to get more photos because I was sick the week before. I went out and took photos the day after it rained and I got some really cool photos of water drops on leaves.   I really enjoyed taking these photos because I haven't taken anything like them yet. I can hopefully get more photos in this next draft because this time, I will be here for the classes.
